There is a ton of speculation floating around as it relates to the Arizona Cardinals 2024 mock draft. Let’s take a few moments to break down some of the most popular (and really the most likely) scenarios out there right now.
Arizona Cardinals 2024 Mock Draft Scenarios
Marvin Harrison Jr., WR as the 4th Pick + JC Latham, OT as the 27th Pick
This might be the most popular Arizona Cardinals 2024 mock draft scenario out there. The Cardinals have the 4th and the 27th pick in the first round of the draft. For most analysts, it seems to be the consensus that the Cardinals are most in need of a receiver and an offensive lineman to start the first round off. Marvin Harrison Jr. is the top candidate in the draft among wide receivers.
In order for him to land with the Cardinals, the previous 3 teams have been projected to all choose top quarterbacks. Once the Cardinals secure Harrison Jr., their next target will likely be an Offensive Lineman. In Field Yates most recent mock draft, the Cardinals pick up OT, JC Latham. It’s easy to see that Latham could land in an immediate starting position because Paris Johnson Jr. is able to move over to Left Tackle and DJ Humphries contract is up in the air (not to mention also coming off of a late season ACL tear).
Rome Odunze, WR as the 4th Pick + Jackson Powers-Johnson, IOL as the 27th Pick
It’s no secret that the Cardinals are in need of a powerful WR. If for some reason, MHJ isn’t available, it’s been widely speculated that Rome Odunze would be the next target. Veteran NFL Draft writer, Lance Zierlein, compares Odunze to the likes of Larry Fitzgerald. That’s really saying something. Fitzgerald is nothing short of a hero to Cardinals fans, so this comparison doesn’t come lightly. As far as the Jackson Powers-Johnson pick, «he has the size, strength and versatility to step in and start at guard or center», says Zierlein. If this is the case, JPJ would likely start immediately as Left Guard.
Malik Nabers, WR as the 4th Pick + Darius Robinson, EDGE as the 27th Pick
This is another popular Wide Reciever scenario associated with the Cardinals. USA Today CardsWire says, «Nabers is an elite talent and should be impactful in the passing game almost immediately.» However, instead of reinforcing the offensive line, the CardsWire 2024 mock draft goes with EDGE, Darius Robinson. He’s a big guy, listed at 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, and had 8.5 sacks and 14 tackles last season. Over the last few days, we’ve seen more an more mocks leaning towards EDGE for the Cardinals, but I’m still among those hoping for an offensive lineman.
Cardinals Trade Away the 4th Pick and Move Down
Falcons: Cardinals receive picks 1.08, 2.43, and 2025 2nd round pick. The Falcons receive the 1.04 and 7.227.
Broncos: Cardinals receive picks 1.12, 3.76, and 2025 1st round pick. The Broncos receive the 1.04 and 4.105.
