The Cowboys are quiet in free agency during first days of legal tampering
Jerry Jones said the Cowboys are «all in». Yet after the first day of legal tampering they’re the only team that hasn’t made a move.
Every other team in the NFC East made moves to try to bolster their lineups and compete for the division title, but the Cowboys are seemingly in»wait and see and let’s hope the draft goes perfect» mode once again. There has been a frenzy of running back signings, one that includes former Giants star Saquon Barkley signing with division rival Philadelphia at 37.75 million for 3 years.

Tony Pollard sign is signing with the Tennessee Titans, and no one expects Rico Dowdle and Malik Davis to inherit the starting roles for the coming season. Dallas has already passed on opportunities to sign free agents Josh Jacobs, Aaron Jones, Joe Mixon and Zack Moss. There has been hope the Cowboys would sign Titans running back Derrick Henry, but there doesn’t appear to be any urgency with the front office to get any deal done.
NFL teams' aggressive action today at running back and lack thereof at offensive tackle coincides with weakness and strength in the 2024 draft class.

A sentiment that has been echoed throughout free agency is that the 2024 class of running backs may be lackluster, resulting in many teams ensuring they enforce their backfield with many star running backs hitting free agency. The Cowboys have a lot of contract decisions to make soon, including stars Ceedee Lamb, Micah Parsons and quarterback Dak Prescott. Time will tell if this wait and see approach benefits the ‘Boys in the long run or if it’s just more of the same in Big D.
